Re: Correct connector for CreatiVision replacement keyboard / joysticks

Been working on a new version. I don't have it quite right yet but we're getting there. DSCF2580[1].jpg I'm having adhesion problems with the overhangs. I might try printing it at an angle. DSCF2579[1].jpg The big change (Other than fixing some clearance issues) for this one is the mounting holes. I...

Re: Correct connector for CreatiVision replacement keyboard / joysticks

Ribbon cable it is :-) (It's what I prefer) OK version 0.1 has been designed and printed and mostly worked? I need to scale up some parts minutely and other parts down. I have to add holes got fasteners and the like but for a first attempt? It worked well enough. The print also failed due to an adhe...

Re: Correct connector for CreatiVision replacement keyboard / joysticks

Scouter3d I was going to target ribbon cable coming out the back. Is that preferred by you or would you prefer me to source some 10 strand cable instead?

Correct connector for CreatiVision replacement keyboard / joysticks

So, if, like me, you have tried using DuPont connectors to connect your home brew joystick / keyboard adapter to your Creativision, you've probably found the connection less than perfect. WHen I last opened up one of the controllers, I looked inside the connector end and thought "that looks suspicio...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

Well, my remaining controller just crapped out. I have no more controllers, alas.
Scouter3d is your design at the point where you need beta testers? Otherwise I might need to look at building something EVIL as an interim. :-D

Re: Case for the Megacart

They look great! It's nice to know some of my work is out there being used by people other than myself.
I've been asked to bring my CreatiVision to the local retrocomputer meetup this weekend. We'll see how it goes :-D

Re: Case for the Megacart

I based it on the work of Clockmeister. I am fairly sure it was a clean room reimplementation.
I'll make a note on the Github about it not being compatible with the Creativision II.

Re: Case for the Megacart

Excellent! Good to see the design getting out there.
BTW, are those the right resistor packs? They look like they have only 6 legs. I made that mistake last time, which is why I ended up having to make my own resistor pack... (for 6 resistors, you need 7 legs. Fencepost error.)

Re: Case for the Megacart

OK so I finally got a print of the base. I made a few tweaks for ease of printing and the like so if you have an older version of the cartridge I'd suggest re-downloading it from the Github It's not brilliant, but as far as I can tell, that's more a limitation of my printer. I reckon I'm pushing it ...
