Re: Case for the Megacart

Hi, wow! looks good! i did a quick and rough 3d Print... i found two little bugs ;0) first i had to remove some excess material in the marked areas from the bottom part (see pic) and i found the case is wider than a normal cartridge and does barely (or not at all, depending on the force i used :0)) ...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

Good morning! (it is at least on this side of the world ;0)) i finished the first routing-attempt (the assisted routing in KiCad is nice, but needs getting used to ;0)) It looks a bit untidy, but should be ok... I hooked the second joystick firebutton to pin 9 and 5 , so either one will work (Bear i...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

Hi,

which pin is used for the second (right) fire button? 5 or 9 ? (should connects to pin 8 (GND) when pressed) my guess is Pin 5 :0)

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

Good morning! Yes, only one joystick (the left one) is supported, DB9 Atari style, 2 buttons are supported (there is a small error in my shematic, missing the second fire -button!!!! connection to A5) Sadly there are nearly no Atari/commodore Joysticks with two separate/distinguishable firebuttons! ...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

@Madrigal: Yes, the keyboard works perfect, and one Joystick as good as it gets with only 4 Switches :0) (We have implemented the Joystick rather as a bonus, because we had free I/O lines :0) it should behave like the Joystick on a Laser2001 or Salora Manager. @Cheshirenoir: Great! Looking forward f...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

PS: I just ordered a few of your Creativision Megacart PCBs, do you have a finished 3D printable Case design for them?

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update

Hi Chesh,

wow! you really must be bored ;0)

Thanks for your offer, but i like to have my own go at the PCB design (i want to learn using Kicad and i have different ideas about component placement, also i want to put the PCB in a 3d printed case...)

If you need any help with KiCAD, I'm no expert, but I can assist where possible.
Thanks! If i am stuck i may need your help :0)
I just realized KiCad has no autorouter... so i have to do everything by hand... learning by doing :0)
