Re: 16 way joysticks
Hi Chesh, Here my two cents: The Salora Manger / Laser 2001 has standard 9pin Joysticksockets, i know i played Sonic Invaders on it with a Standard Joystick... (but it uses only left / right and fire) I guess (only a guess!) most games use 4 or maybe the 8 directions, BUT (as i recall testing Color ...

Re: Replacement Keyboard Project Update
Hi Chesh, great work!
if you create a PCB maybe you could add 2 additional standard (Ataritype) DB9 Joystick connectors (as seen on the Laser 2001, Salora Manager)

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
Hi Chesh,
you are welcome :0)
the CV has 3 internal regulators (+5v, -5v, +12V) switchmode alternatives sound very good!

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
Hi Chesh, your check-plan looks good! I would start with the external PSU (maybe it delivers too many volts AC?), then the internal PSU part (Bridge rectifier Diodes, Caps and the 3 Voltage regulators)... I had something similar on a Salora Manager, that i povided with -12V instead of -5V ... worked...

Re: New Open Source MultiCart released
Oh! Yes, i understand!
come to think of it, my "Everycard" (CSL PCB with a few patchwires and cuts does exactly that (only for 1 x 32kb) ...
i had to unswap the swapped version of crosschase to work on it...

Re: New Open Source MultiCart released
Wow! looks so gorgeous in black! I am still very "unsure" about the whole "ROM Bank swapping" Please correct me if i am wrong: the Creativision (in Hardware) has one continuous 32kb block of Space, that a ROM Cart can use as it pleases... All the existing Carts use either only the upper part of that...

Re: Conventional structure for 18k and bigger images?
Hi,
i think part of the problem (the biggest part) is the MAME/MESS emulation itself, as there are no 32kb original carts...
maybe there is a need to define a 2*16kb cartridge scheme for MAME
the real hardware has no problem with the 32kb...
