Replacement Keyboard Project Update
Hey fine folks, An update on the keyboard project. I've actually made some progress! I have built a little tester rig consisting of a breadboard, a single DPST button and a length of jumpers. I can confirm the design I made for a replacement keyboard actually will work, and I have even found a few b...

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
As a quick followup, it wasn't just a dry joint. Turns out the master switch also needed the Deoxit treatment. Working again reliably.

Someone has uploaded the 1983/84 Dick Smith catalog
Michael over on the AppleIIoz forums has uploaded the 1983/84 Dick Smith catalog. On page 6/7 is a full page spread for the Dick Smith WIzzard, and on page 25 there's a second ad for it.
Fascinating to see it in context...

Nice scores there, MADrigal.
Would it be practical to scan in the books?

Re: Seasons Greetings All
No worries. Well, if I manage to get my hands on one, I'll open it up and trace the board.

Re: Seasons Greetings All
Ooh that sounds really interesting MADrigal. Definitely will need a better keyboard ;-) On that front, does anyone have a schematic for the Moving Key Keyboard? I suspect it'll be a simple enough design. I want to make a proper Mechanical keyboard for the CreatiVision. Obviously i'll open source the...

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
Well, it looks like it WAS a dry joint. Went over the board with a magnifier, marked all dubious looking solder points and went and resoldered all of them. There was a "bodge wire" that was particularly loose, between the lower RF shield and ground, so I wonder if that was my weak point.

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
OK so more info. I think I must have a dry joint somewhere, so I'll pull it apart and see what I can spot. When the distortion starts, if I give the unit a tap on the top, the distortion goes away. Hope it's not below the lower shield.

Re: CreatiVision with distorted output then crash
Well, I finally got the Wizzard on the bench again, and the voltages look within what'd I'd expect the tolerances to be. The AC is putting out 17v unloaded on the 16v line and 10v unloaded on the 9v line. On the inside, measured at the pins for the 4116 RAM I get +5 = 5.02 +12 = 11.9 -5 = -5.2 This ...
