Re: Simple Atari-Style Joystick to Creativision adaptor

Referring to the diagram here http://www.madrigaldesign.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=378&p=3708&hilit=joystick#p3708 If you swap PIN 1 and PIN3 - and accept that the BLUE boxes should be set - then you match up with the PIA values which are expected. The raw data is stored at memory location $18-$1...

Re: Simple Atari-Style Joystick to Creativision adaptor

Not sure if this will help, but here's the breakdown of how the CV gets joystick input. BIOS reads from the PIA and inverts the value with EOR #$FF. This value is then doubled (ASL). The result is then the element of the matching value in the BIOS lookup table at $FBB1. BASIC differs by just droppin...

Re: Salora Manager / Laser 2001 BASIC

Dunno about floppy emulation - as there's no floppy apps etc - or does someone have VisiCalc for Salora Manager?

I suspect it's not too dificult to do through the expansion port - as the existing drive controller manages to place an extra 6k ROM and a PIA there.

Re: Salora Manager / Laser 2001 BASIC

Yes Apple ][ is 1.023Mhz

However - AppleSoft II BASIC == MS-BASIC == Salora Manager / Laser 2001 BASIC.

The main difference is I/O overhead.

Re: Salora Manager / Laser 2001 BASIC

VPOKE is broken in the dumps we have. Indeed there's some confusion in the tape and type in BASIC listings too. This the VPOKE and common SETVDPADDR functions. ************************************************************** * VPOKE * ************************************************************** f220...

Re: Salora Manager Disk ROM

I have no way to dump old 5.25" disks - so hopefully Tom will have a cunning plan. The disks are just modified AppleDOS - so perhaps someone with a working Apple ][ setup may be able to dump them with a little modified software. Failing that - would you be willing to perhaps send the floppies and ha...

Re: Salora Manager Disk ROM

Provided the audio out is working, it's quite easy to copy the data in tracks, then write each track to audio. No ASM needed - just good old BASIC. The big problem is the PSU. I would expect that once you know what voltages etc are inputs, it could be done. Does someone have a working FDD PSU that t...

Re: Salora Manager Disk ROM

Today I was looking through the latest Mame release files and stumbled upon the attached for the Laser 2001. I think it is an attempt to copy a floppy disk - but sadly has missing sectors. Perhaps used Apple sector count instead of Laser DOS? The file identifies as 'Kaarne' which google translates t...
