Re: Laser 2001 & Salora Manager - official thread

i think it's almost impossible that all those peripherals (specially the RAM modules) are compatible with all models - because they're strictly tied to the CPU RAM map of every specific model. maybe the disk drive is compatible with more models, but probably not all of them, specially the Apple II c...

Site news (year 2011)

September 23rd, 2011 It's been a very very long time since last update - over one year! By the way I've not been inactive... on the contrary I spent lots of time and effort in getting new stuff for the Online Database of manuals, boxes, etc. I found very rare stuff which I could picture and scan, l...

Re: Laser 2001 & Salora Manager - official thread

Yep, I remember about the Laser 500 computer/Laser 500 Creativision thing, but I knew Laser 200/210 and 300/310 only.

Didn't know the Laser 500, 700, 350 and 750 were all "evolutions" of the Laser 200/300 series.

Re: BASIC disassembly

The BIOS includes its own character set, which is for use with videogames (except a few videogames which might have their own charset) As far as I remember, 2 character sets are also included in the TMS9929 internal ROM. One is 8x8 pixels, the other is 8x6 pixels. Basic uses its own character set, t...

Re: RND function

About Barry Klein's speed hack. As far as I remember, it's not a matter of "it running so fast -> the random generator works once per run". Ithink the speed hack also consists in "ignoring" the random generator. Not sure about that, but I think that Berry explained what actually changed with his spe...

Re: Laser 2001 & Salora Manager - official thread

Speaking of the German manual for the Laser 2001, I browsed through it a couple of weeks ago and found it covers different aspects and most importantly far less technical detail than the Finnish manual for the Salora Manager. It made me wonder if the English manual for the 2001 would be just as bri...
