Re: Carlsson's creatiVision / Laser 2001 collection

No new acquisition, but yet another friend's friend nearby found a nicely boxed Creativision with six boxed games (Air/Sea Attack, Auto Chase, Mouse Puzzle, Police Jump, Sonic Invader, Tennis) while cleaning his father's garage! This system that otherwise is uncommon or even rare, pops up like mushr...

Re: How to build a creatiVision power supply

Yeah, the SVI type of power supply is almost even more hen's teeth due to the hard to find connector in combination with the above mentioned voltages.

For that matter, I haven't had time to open up the 1541 yet but perhaps I'll get an hour to spare over Christmas?

Re: How to build a creatiVision power supply

Hey! I just realized the internal transformer in a common Commodore 1541 floppy drive (not the 1541-II thus) has two windings, one that should be good for 16VAC ~0.8A and one for 9VAC ~1.5A. Internally it has additional circuitry to rectify and bring down those voltages to DC which is what the 1541 ...

Re: Carlsson's creatiVision / Laser 2001 collection

Last Sunday I found a box for Mouse Puzzle with Swedish instructions (already scanned) and overlay, but no cartridge. Fortunately I had a spare loose cartridge of this one, so now I've got another complete copy of this one. This is CreatiVision City, where systems and games regularly pop up among fl...

Re: How to build a creatiVision power supply

Speaking of Elfa's sale, I just noticed they have a few transformers on sale too! Unfortunately neither perfectly matches the original Creativision PSU, which outputs 9VAC @ 1A + 16.5VAC @ 250 mA (with rectifiers and regulators inside the console). 2x9VAC 16VA transformer with 888 mA on each loop, w...

Re: Laser 2001 & Salora Manager - official thread

Elfa is now having a sale on power supplies, web orders only. This little darling specified at 5V DC @ 7A, 12V DC @ 3.2A plus -5V DC @ 0.7A, more than enough to power a Laser 2001 or Manager, only costs 43 SEK including VAT (5.13 USD) + shipping, which though might be expensive. https://www.elfa.se/...

Re: The recreated spectrum pre-order

This one however is a ZX Spectrum on FPGA: http://zxuno.speccy.org/index_e.shtml

Then there is the Vega, an 8 button machine: http://www.zxvega.co.uk/The_Vega

There probably are more examples, those are the ones I know about that are productified so far.

Re: Laser 2001 & Salora Manager - official thread

Another user at a different forum also is in the process to wire up his Manager. He is planning to use a laptop PSU that has the required voltages. Can you produce -5V from a +5V line? In that case, one could use a cheap 5+12V supply from China and then another circuit to get the -5V before feeding ...
