Re: Joypad work after cleaning

I reached out to a company (See this thread) and it looks like we'll need a MINIMUM order of 100.
I want 4, (2 controllers + 2 spares), but the other 96 may be a hard sell :-D

Re: Strange buzzing, distorted picture followed by corruption

I think it's fixed. Tapped around with a non conductive probe, and the fault seemed to be with the big 8200𝜇F capacitor. I replaced it, and while I was there I spotted what may have been a dry joint under another capacitor in the area. Either way, the buzzing seems to have gone away. Currently tryin...

Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers

Hey Folks, They got back to me: We get approached by several people about different types of membranes, and we are always faced by the same problem: a) Finance for a production run b) Size of market c) Having access to original computers / controllers for the factory (based in Scotland) to take apar...

Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers

Cheers for that. I might reach out to them. I'll also remove my current membranes and scan them in at high resolution. I can then trace them in CorelDRAW and have something to start working with.

Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers

Hey folks, So I'm still working on what to do about controllers. The controllers we have are slowly dying, one by one, and it already feels like there are more base units than there are controllers. I've decided the best way forward for controllers, will be to make new replacement membranes for the ...

Re: Strange buzzing, distorted picture followed by corruption

No worries :-)
Was mostly asking in case it was something that "everyone" got that I wasn't aware of. (On the Commodore 64, for instance, it's ALWAYS the PAL chip that fails)
I'll treat it as a "normal" problem and try and attack it at the logical spots.

Re: Strange buzzing, distorted picture followed by corruption

OK at this point I'll check the caps around the power supply, then look at the RAM, then the 9929.

Strange buzzing, distorted picture followed by corruption

Hey Folks, My Wizzard has started playing up again. Every time I think I have this tamed, it happens again. After an indeterminate amount of time (Sometimes seconds, sometimes hours) it starts to make a buzzing noise, the picture distorts and eventually the program corrupts. Sometimes knocking it(!)...
