Yes, the mmbeeb interface supposedly does about 10 kB/s: http://swhs.home.xs4all.nl/bbc/mmbeeb/

It means a 30 kB program might take 3-4 seconds to load. I understand 30 kB is a sneeze in the wind on the GameCube (?), but on the CreatiVision it would equal the largest known software. :D

Thinking further, does soemone with CV hardware knowledge have information on the GPIO pinouts? This would make it easier to connect than centronics, and open up the world of Arduino, Pi etc. Also, GPIO would allow you to write your own protocol which fits with 6502 better.

Just a thought.
