CV Joypad vs. SM/Laser Joystick
CV Joypad vs. SM/Laser Joystick
interesting is that the CV Joypad give us between each direction 2 different values for diagonal positions. The SM and Laser Joystick are nothing more then the Atari style with only 4 direction and diagonal is for example left+up. On the CV left+up is NOT possible only the emu do this. To make a game with diagonal movements we must handle this both to make it work on the CV and SM/Laser.
Re: CV Joypad vs. SM/Laser Joystick
Hm, so reading $11 (left) and $13 (right) only will result in non-zero values on the Creativision, while reading $18 (left) and $1A (right) will only register diagonal movements on the computer versions? I can't recall whether I observed this when I debugged my Reversi game, but I have no reason to disbelieve you before checking it myself.

From my memory, the Atari joystick has 1 only fire button, whereas the Laser 2001 joystick 2 buttons working separately.
