W00t! That is awesome.

If you need any help with KiCAD, I'm no expert, but I can assist where possible.

Thanks! If i am stuck i may need your help :0)
I just realized KiCad has no autorouter... so i have to do everything by hand... learning by doing :0)

There are external autorouters, but I have got used to hand routing now :-)

Otherwise if you need a routing monkey, I'm happy to spend some downtime hand routing :-D

So I got a little bored...
CV2Keyboard.jpg
Working from Scouter3Ds schematic, I set it up in KiCAD and did a hand route.
It's not perfect. I want to compress the X width down to 10cm as most PCB manufacturers charge extra when you go over 10cm. I'd also like to make it the width of a common "Jiffy" box for easy construction.

Scouter3D, did you want me to send you my work? Just let me know. :-)

Hi Chesh,

wow! you really must be bored ;0)

Thanks for your offer, but i like to have my own go at the PCB design (i want to learn using Kicad and i have different ideas about component placement, also i want to put the PCB in a 3d printed case...)

Cheers, TOM:0)

PS: I just ordered a few of your Creativision Megacart PCBs, do you have a finished 3D printable Case design for them?

Cheers, TOM:0)

Hi,

i had no doubt, but now it is confirmed and tested, the interface works using an Arduino Nano... :0)

Thats excellent progress! And does it work 100%? How about joysticks?

Not yet, but I do plan on having one by late next week :-)

(I have a week of leave. Want to print a 3D case for the Megacart, see what's wrong with the Archimedes 440 and teach myself how to hot air desolder)

@Madrigal: Yes, the keyboard works perfect, and one Joystick as good as it gets with only 4 Switches :0) (We have implemented the Joystick rather as a bonus, because we had free I/O lines :0) it should behave like the Joystick on a Laser2001 or Salora Manager.

@Cheshirenoir: Great! Looking forward for the 3D cases! (And i love the Archimedes computers!)

Cheers, TOM:0)
