Cloning the CreatiVision

Has anyone thought about cloning the CreatiVision? Most of the chips are available, as they were used in multiple systems. We have schematics...

I'm not suggesting anyone SHOULD do it, more has anyone had a look at it?

(It was inspired by me joking that you could clone the CreatiVison by getting a ColecoVision and jamming in a 6502. It got me thinking :-D )

Cheers!

I think it should be failry easy to make a cv-in-a-chip on FPGA.

You're probably right about being able to do it in an FPGA, but I was thinking more along the lines of the various clone boards out there for things like the MSX and the ColecoVision. (There's also Apple II systems, Commodore 64s and I believe an Atari 800 clone now available for people to build).

An example of what can be done is the Omega MSXII Clone.
We could all have our own Laser 2001! :-D

I can dream, can't I? I have some extended holidays coming up. I might try and put the existing schematics into KiCAD as a beginning point.

Hi,

yes i also dream this. I have seen so much great clones line Vic-20 etc.
And i hate fpga or emulation, sorry.

So yes, it would be great. And then put in the expansion module stuff and a sid.
