+12 volts regulated. Draws a total of 700 mA during FF, RW and Play. Spikes around 1 amp when started.

Your tape port diagram is different to my tape port plug. There's no connection on pins 4 and 5 and the tape remote is pin 3. Maybe all 3 pins are tape remote?

Hi Kevgal, thanks for the information, yes, maybe Taperemote is always Pin3 and 4+5 are the same...

Yep, confirmed, all 3 go low when 'CLOAD' is run.
