Hi,
As a menber of the TI-99/4A club in Austria i come across a very interesting project called "F18A" which is a replacement for the 9929 graphicchip.
Replacing the 9929 (the same processor as in the CreatiVision) with this gives you a superb VGA picture!
If anyone is interested here is the link to the developer ...

Re: Creativision VGA Output!
Looks very interesting, but there's 2 problems:
1. won't output at 50 Hz
2. price is VERY expensive!

Re: Creativision VGA Output!
Yes, i think games run a little faster on our modded TI-99/4A´s. (60Hz instead of 50Hz.)
And Yes, the price is one of the main reasons why i don´t own one allready

Re: Creativision VGA Output!
I used one of those cheap composite to vga adators from Dealextreme, looks great on my 20 inch Dell monitor. Only issue with these is their auto detect. They only seem to detect frame rate not subcarrier which means non standard formats such as PAL 60 or NTSC 50 are detected incorrectly resulting in monochrome video. Not a problem with the CV as it's PAL anyway. could be an issue with NTSC versions of the CV if it generates NTSC 50
