Creativision centronics printer cable pinout

Post by Scouter3d » Thu Feb 07, 2013 4:44 pm

Hi,

I got the creativision "parallel I/O interface module" but without a matching printer cable, so i had to figure out the pinout=>

Here is the pinout for a printer cable to use with the "parallel I/O interface module" and a centronics printer.

Thanks Tom. I would use the infos on a forthcoming "homebrews" I'm adding to the CreatiVEmu website.

Question is: is there a way to understand which part of the connector (console-side) is top, and which is down?

It looks like one pin is missing (key?) but perhaps the male connector on the parallel interface is not uniquely shaped to reflect this keying?

Hi,

Sorry, i know i should have mentioned it: the plug is shown in the right way (up in the picture is up on the CV too...). There is a small "keypeg" (cut) on the CV-side but i had no easy way of adding a key to the plug... see pic of interfaceboard.

Thanks Tom! :-)

Suggestion: a piece of toothpick with a drip of glue would do good?
