CSL Cart...

Talk about programming CreatiVision (except games programming). Projects of homebrew hardware are also welcome.

Updates regarding the CSL Cart.

We have updated the CSL PCB to V2.0 (the update is mainly to even further increase the compatibility and streamline the design)

* Now "faster" SRAM Chips are also useable (more readily available...)
* need for patchwire (on some machines) removed
* works perfect even with faster RAM on MK I and MK II CreatiVisions (there are timing differences between MKI and MKII Boards due to the additional circuitry in MKII, that do show up if you use faster RAM...)

Here a picture of my ugly "hedgehog" V2.0 Prototype... ;0)

V2.0 will go to PCB manufacturer in the next couple of days...

PS: The V1.0 PCBs can be simply transformed into "Everycards" (3 patchwires and 1 cut)! This Carts can hold a 27C256 Eprom, and you can burn every known cartimage in to it... (from 4K to 32K) so they are suited for replacing dead carts or prototyping stuff, or... contact me if you need one or a few...

Hi,

With the CSL Cart the Creativision is basically upgraded with more RAM and better BASIC (it more or less becomes a Laser2001 or Salora Manger Computer)

The benefits for the "normal" user are:

Loading of Cartridge Images from any Soundsource (PC Soundcard, Iphone, MP3 Player, even from the Creativision Tape Module...), Serial Connection to a PC or over Bluetooth Connection...
(That way you can load all comercial and Homebrew Games without owning the Carts...)

Better Basic (if you like to write your own programs, much faster, more powerfull... and runs the Laser 2001/Salora Software)

Ciao, TOM:0)

Hi,

Unfortunately, the CSL Cart is still in development and not yet ready for sale, but you find any News of it right here in this thread.

Hi,

After a long break (lots of work and moving my workroom) the CSL V2.0 PCB's will go into production in the first days of 2015 (what a good way to start the new year!)

Greetings, TOM:0)

Woho, it's ready soon - at last!

Have you took a decision about the package of the "commercial" version? And how about the price?

I sign up for a CSL module and cassette interface. If numbered, I would love to have copy # 1, as usual :)
