CSL Cart...
Re: CSL Cart...
Hi Carlsson,
Yes, the Format difference may be in the Basic Version... my LASER has 1.0, my Salora Manager has 2.1... Maybe there exist LASER 2001 with 2.0 or 2.1? (but i think the 2.x mainly was the number they choose for the Salora (with finnish Chars). Apart from the LOAD/SAVE timing differences 1.0 and 2.1 are basically the same... (The finnish Manager Manual has illustrations showing Basic 1.0... but These may be only be reused from a previous released LASER Manual)

Re: CSL Cart...
I really may have to look. We must not forget the Sanyo 2001 too, whether all three were on different markets at the same time or if Sanyo and Salora got slightly updated versions from VTech who themselves moved on to the Apple compatible series? Unfortunately I don't know if any Sanyo 2001 exists besides references to it. What about Dick Smith, did they ever sell the 2001 computer or did they move directly to the CAT (Laser 3000)?
Re: CSL Cart...
Sanyo 2001? Never heard of it. It might be a mis-reference or an "internal name" for the Sanyo Laser 2001.
As for DSW, I have never seen any catalogues of DSW products mentioning the Laser 2001

Re: CSL Cart...
Yes, I mean Sanyo Laser 2001. Sorry for the confusion, or improper nomenclature. Anyway, I see that Sanyo sold just about all VTech Laser models so perhaps it wouldn't be as unique as the Salora Manager model appears to be.
Re: CSL Cart...
Sanyo sold Laser 2001 in Germany. I would say that it's the same Laser 2001 which sold elsewhere - even though I still don't know *where else* it sold!
From my memory, your Laser 2001 has the bottom sticker in English, whereas Tom's computer might have writings in German.

Re: CSL Cart...
Yes, it has stickers in English. My unit is still on display on Old-Computers.com, photos contributed by its former owner Seob. The VTech box however has text in German next to English, French and Spanish (I believe it is).

Re: CSL Cart...
Your unit is also displayed on the CreatiVEmu website. I just checked and in fact yours has English stickers. There's a German version, I suppose I got pics from Tom (sorry I dont remember that right now)
Re: CSL Cart...
Hi,
Yes, my LASER 2001 has a german Label... see pic.
Funny Detail (bad english to german or VTECH to german :0)) => translated is says "no useable parts" and not "no user serviceable parts" or so...
so the LASER 2001 contains no useable parts, thats News to me ;0)

Re: CSL Cart...
Oh well, Creativision games have "Deutech" manuals inside, after all!
Re: CSL Cart...
Perhaps they mean it doesn't contain any reusable parts, i.e. everything is soldered to the board with wires and stuff all over the place so you should be glad as long as it doesn't break down?
