I finally got a working setup with Salora Manager + PSU + floppy disk drive + PSU + disk drive controller.

When the disk drive is connected and you switch the computer ON, an additional text appears on screen, reading "LASER DOS V1.0".

The DIR command works just like the MS-DOS one.

Unfortunately I have a blank floppy diskette only, so I can't test any programs from disk.

I would like to save a file onto the floppy, but I have no clue what commands to use.

Anyone has a clue?

Got it! Just a couple of quick attempts and it seems that the following commands work

FORMAT
SAVE"FILENAME"

Both my floppy disk drives seem not to work properly - or maybe the diskette is faulty. Whatever I do but DIR, prompts "DISK I/O ERROR"

Any hints?

You could try reading the word at $2ffe - which will hopefully contain the pointer to your drive BIOS.
Scan that area for ASCII strings.
If you can connect an audio recorder - dump memory to wave file and we can work out syntax etc.
Well done on getting this far!

I have just got hints from my Finnish friend. Here is the full list of commands and instructions how to use them
Save xxxx.xxx (xxxx.xx = filename)
Load xxxx.xxx

Commands are:
Basic: Load, Run, Save.
Datafiles only: Open, Close, Read, Write.
Both: Format, Protect, Unprotect, Rename, Dir, Unsave.
Binaryprograms only: Mload, Mrun, Msave.
Basicprograms only: Open, Read, Write, Close
@username@: happy to help.
Please tell me exactly what you need.
My best guess would be to BSAVE from 0000 to ffff. From memory, the command is BSAVE $0000,$ffff - is this what you need? Or a smaller area? Any specific requests?
I have a 16K memory module. Do you want me to plug it in before dumping?

I have the "split" audio cable which originally came with the Manager). I will connect it to my notebook - cross fingers.

Great that you have the commands already!

For dumping, as you suggest - just take the entire 64K as BSAVE $0000,$FFFF - that way we will also have a good frame of reference.

Be good to see if it's possible to to tape-to-disk too - so you can load much quicker from disc - although I'm thinking new blanks may be a problem too.

Anyhow - great to see that after all this time, for the most part, it's working ok!
