New casing for future Homebrew Games edited on cartridge?

Talk about programming CreatiVision (except games programming). Projects of homebrew hardware are also welcome.

New casing for future Homebrew Games edited on cartridge?

Post by RayXambeR » Sat Mar 28, 2015 10:00 pm

Sorry for this long title :)

I have an idea: I can model the casing of a Creativison cartridge. I can generate STL files of each part and try to make a 3D printing.
do you think it can help the Creativison community to edit the world wide first homebrew for this cool system?
Just let me know, I probably can make tries this spring, probably in may/june.

Well I have modeled a 3D cartridge already so if anyone needs plastic shells, I would provide the 3D model done already.

My opinion is that a plastic casing wouldn't be vey helpful in selling homebrew games. There's a lack of programmers, not of plastic cases, unfortunately. :(

I think it would be a nice Project rebuilding the cart casings, you could even insert the soon to be released CSL Cart into one of These (if you like)... ;0)
I still haven't found another (cheaper or even Fitting) solution.

Yeah, I think I could use one of those.

I'm assuming it would fit the models with the elongated screw holes just fine.

Also interested in these, especially if they're available as a 3D model we can print ourselves.
(Was about to start work making my own model in OpenSCAD)

I got bored waiting, so I designed one up in OpenSCAD.
This has NOT yet been tested (I don't actually own a 3D printer) so it'll probably need some more work...
Grab it here
I hereby release this under Creative Commons BY-SA which means you can even sell these if you print your own, as long as you attribute them to me :-)
Edit: Just updated to a slightly tweaked version with a paramater allowing you to stretch them.
