First Post for 2022

Post by cheshirenoir » Sat Jan 08, 2022 7:40 am

I decided it was looking a bit quiet around here :-)

What are all our CreatiVision plans for 2022? Mine are:
Replace all the power regulators in the Wizzard - It gets twitchy when hot. I suspect it's something around either the 5v regulator or the 12v regulator.
Build the keyboard adapter developed by the very talented Scouter3d. Down the track I'd like to see if I can extend his work to handle a Genesis controller instead of an Atari, and thus use the 8 extra buttons provided.

Hope you are all doing well!

Hi Chesh,

Yes, the CV can get pretty hot... :0) I would love to see modern regulators used (Recom) instead of the 7805 / 7812
i even had a plan to customize my CV with other RAMs so i do not need the -5V and the 12V (not sure about the 12V afair it is used somewhere else also in the videomixer? maybe...)

My plans are: finalyzing the CV-PS/2 Interface (Simple 3DPrinted case is in the making...)
and we are planing something big this year, but that will be a surprise!

Cheers, TOM:0)

I plan to dump (or have someone help me doing it) the BIOS of the Colecovision/CreatiVision converter and share it with the community, and maybe write a MAME driver for it.
Also, I still have plans to build an interface to make it useable on the CreatiVision MK2.
And lastly I have plans to dump the Salora Manager original software on floppy disks.
Problem is... I have little time, zero equipment, and another ton of more urgent projects to complete :(
