I will do a little more testing, to be sure it works fine, then i will produce a few... (without case...but i will supply the sticker ;0))
The price for an assembled and tested 16K Expansion Module will be €30.- + shipping...

I sign for th expansion module as well. Number 1 if available, obviously. :-)

I would like to have it with signed PCB and letter. I love the idea of having stuff signed by geniuses! :D

Hi,

Work on the 16K Module is finished! I even rushed up a packaging...

All Modules are tested with "Titanic" Demo, which uses 16K and can not be loaded into an unexpanded Salora Manager/LASER 2001. (which has only 12K free...)

Now you can order one at a thread in the marketplace : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=187&p=1891#p1891

In an attempt to somewhat bring back the original topic on this thread, I just like to announce that I'll bringing my 2001 to the local museum this Saturday. They open an exhibition about Swedish made video games. To spice up the opening a bit, we're bringing some of our own systems although they don't have to be about Swedish games. I've calculated we can fit about six systems and the goal was to pick and mix to get as broad coverage as possible: the early ones, the popular ones, the oddballs, the consoles, the computers, ideally only one of each brand. In the end, I've settled for this lineup of 6 different systems: Atari 2600 (although the JR model), Mattel Intellivision, Nintendo Famicom, Commodore 64, VTech Laser 2001, Sega Megadrive.

The exhibition itself displays emulated setups of the Fairchild Channel F, 2x Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amiga 500, early PC compatibles, consoles from the mid 1990's and newer etc so in total it should be a decent mix.

We'll see which system is most attractive for the visitors. I've spiced up the C64 I'm bringing with a set of the PSX64 interface, Guitar Hero guitar and Shredz 64 to go with it. It strikes me the PSX64 interface should be useful on the Laser 2001 too, as it is meant to be used with most/all systems with an Atari joystick compatible port.

Nice setup of different systems.

Salora Manager is not only machine I'm going to bring to Saku2014. Vic-20 and Atari Falcon030 are other two. Saku2013 event I brought DraCo (Amiga clone), PC (AROS) and PowerMac G5 (MorphOS).

Atari has NetUSBee-interface. Vic-20 will have Final Expansion 3. Yesterday soldered it, but it is not tested. FE3 is waiting case.

Some pics about FE3: http://koti.kapsi.fi/jvaltane/vic20/fe/pics/

Yeah, I assembled a FE3 a couple of years ago. It works, but I never got around to fit it inside the case properly.

For that matter, very little gaming took place over the four hours the museum but at least one of my friends again asked me if the Laser 2001 was for sale... :D

I just tried SMBLoader with my Laser 2001. I found that in order for the program to load, I need a far greater amplitude, actually 75 was not loud enough but at 85 it loads and run OK, given that I use 75% volume in WinAMP. It can depend a lot on your PC sound card, how loud it is and perhaps which program you use to playback WAVs, but it is interesting if the Salora Manager accepts much more silent sound files than the Laser 2001 does?!?

By the way, how does one reset a softloaded ROM image? If I press the reset button, it exits to the BASIC prompt and CALL -138 will not restart it anyway. For development purposes, I realize that one does not really need to wait for user reset before selecting game mode, start playing etc, but if one is softloading an existing ROM?

Hello
so, how did it go at the Saku2014? Have you got any pictures to show us? Or a report of the fair? :-)
