Ah, great point of clue! Of course graphics wise a lot can be borrowed from e.g. the Colecovision version although I'm not entirely sure how they solved the two colour limitations based on screenshots. Yes, I have checked patterns of eight pixels trying to figure it out, but will have to look again to be entirely sure.

Well, as far as I can see, on the Colecovision each cube is exactly 4 characters (32 pixels) wide, and I guess the game uses the bitmap mode so there are no color clashes.

You can find a collection of screenshots on various systems here:

Oh, and I noticed that you've even covered part of the music... the arcade version plays the start of the "Invention" piece you put on the Creativision at the start of the 2nd level. :-)

Good to see that Q-Bert is making the race!Loved this game for my Intellivision system.
Actually I voted for a Text Adventure , because I would like to have a game for the keyboard peripheral.

Very happy to realise a homebrew scene for the Creativision system getting into action! :D
Now we can imagine what would have been possible with this much underrated console.

I voted Q-bert but anything would be cool. Rather than another Colecovision game which would look the same as the Colecovision version unless you plan on upgrading the programing. How about something from the Intellivision like Shark Shark , Night Stalker or Astrosmash.

And thanks for all your effort so far. :)

Thank you for your suggestions. Obviously the list of games is near endless, I just limited myself to some titles for which I already have written code (in most cases 6502 machine code) and hopefully will have a shorter development period than when doing something "new".

As you've seen, we are becoming a small number of programmers now so the chances are looking good to get more software out. Some of the "semi-professional" retro game programmers who already are working with VDP and 6502 in separate projects might be interested in releasing something as well?

I have an idea.

There were several games announced but never released for the CreatiVision, like:

- Skiing (actual screenshot exists on Hong Kong flyer/catalogue!)
- Boat chase (front box art exists on Austrian flyer/catalogue!)
- Pharaoh's Curse (mentioned as "coming soon" in old magazines)
- Haunted Villa (box appearing on real game boxes)
- Parachute (box appearing on real game boxes)
- The Great Rally (box appearing on real game boxes)
- Astro Fighter (box appearing on real game boxes)

Why not focusing our efforts in designing new games, based on the unreleased games/vaporware?

For example, about the Skiing game, there's even a real screenshot available, which offers many informations about gameplay and graphics! :-)
