Hello to All

Post by Sharpe1965 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 2:52 pm

I am happy that i now have been welcomed to this wonderful forum.

My name is Karl, I am from Austria (no Kangaroos :) )
and i am collecting for fun the old handheld electronic games and consoles
that i was playing with during my childhood.
Born in 1967 i once had a Philips Videopac G7000, Mattell Intellivison, the VCS
as well as the Colecovision...
I did not have a Creativision then.

Now I just bought a creativision for EUR10,-- , but sadly the power supply is missing.
I already found some schematics but am still wondering if both the 16V and the 9V
have to be AC...

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and thanks to All,
Karl

Welcome!

And hey, if you're a fan of old handheld games, don't miss to play my free "simulators" which you can download from:

http://www.madrigaldesign.it/sim/

Enjoy your stay here! ;)

PS: don't miss my post in "marketplace" as I'm selling many CreatiVision cartridges and peripherals. I'm also selling most of my collection of handheld games. Please send me email in case you want the list.

10 euro's, what a bargain! :-)

Did you get any boxed stuff, manuals, etc.? Anything which could have useful information for the CreatiVEmu online database?

About your question: yes, both voltages are AC. You can use 18V instead of 16.5V, since a 16.5V transformer is not an easy finding nowaday.

We have two discussion threads about power supplies, although there are no definite answers in either.

How to build a power supply, using two transformers:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=37

Discussion about the internal AC -> DC conversion, and whether it could take DC instead:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=63

I'm still toying with the idea of getting an R-Core preamp transformer and wire it properly to get the required amperages.

Moving to Vienna for a short trip next month.
Any suggestions, what's nice to see in a weekend?
I'm into modern art museum, gardens, architecture, etc.

Museum of Modern Art and Architecture you will find at the MQ (Museums Quartier) http://www.mqw.at/ especially the "MUMOK" (Museum für Moderne Kunst).

Gardens: Volksgarten, Stadtpark and the Garden in Schönbrunn or of Schloss Belvedere.

Hope this helps, TOM :0)
