Hi all,

I've known MADrigal for 2 decades, but just realised I never introduced myself here. I originally grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, where we got our first CV in 1983/4 when I was 9 years old, ended up purchasing all the games available (even Locomotive, which was released there a few years later), and the BASIC cartridge with manual and cassette module. I learned to program on this machine, then eventually moved onto my older sister's PC and moved on to a career in games development.

Unfortunately it eventually stopped working (power supply died) and we gave it away to charity, which I immediately regretted. I actually went to the charity afterwards but they said that by then it would have gone out to one of their charity shops and they had no idea of telling which or getting it back.

Later, I found an unboxed semi-complete unit at Cash Converters, which I played a fair bit and kept for a few years, but more recently MADrigal was selling his fully boxed South African Telefunken CV + games off him, which felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - so I am now once again the proud owner of a complete boxed system and many boxed games. I actually never thought I'd see a boxed game with the "microTEK" logo on the bottom corner again!

I currently live in Birmingham UK, but spent 5-6 years living + working in Melbourne Australia between late 2014 and early 2020, and visit my family in South Africa at times too. So you might find me in various parts of the world!

Good to meet you all :)

Paul, you are absolutely and forever welcome in this forum - actually I am surprised I never noticed you never introduced yourself, although having posted quite a few times.

Paul, not only you are a talented musician and programmer, but also a very keen CreatiVision enthusiast, and I love your Kapooka game!

I look forward to catching up with you in Melbourne when you return here - and have a pizza and some arcade games at Bartronica, the gorgeous retro-pub that you introduced me to, a few years ago :)
