YEAR 2001

December 26th, 2001
I've been away for a long time... This was due to my new site, which took almost all of my spare time. Its a site regarding Nintendo consoles emulation, and it's called N!Zone (click to visit). I'll soon be back to programming. I'm planning to release the long awaited Donkey Kong Coleco tabletop simulator. I just got a working copy from a Canadian friend, and I'll soon start working on it.

And oh... happy new year!

September 22th, 2001
Minor bug-fix release for:
- "Egg (Nintendo, Wide Screen Series) Simulator" S3/1.01 (Standard 3, minor bug-fix)

September 17th, 2001
New game release, and this time it's a simulator of the rarest G&W ever!
- "Egg (Nintendo, Wide Screen Series) Simulator" S3/1.00 (Standard 3, final)

It's actually the same game as Mickey Mouse though having different graphics.
Get it from the download section.

NOTE: this game lacks the instructions manual browser.
If you own it, please help me by emailing me scans from it!!

September 11th, 2001
Whops! I've been informed that I forgot to fix a small bug in yesterday's release of Mickey Mouse.
Now it should be OK. Please get the new version: S3/1.01 (Standard 3, minor bug-fix).
...sorry for this problem! - (download)

September 10th, 2001
New game released today:
- "Mickey Mouse (Nintendo, Wide Screen Series) Simulator" S3/1.00 (Standard 3, final)

Big thanks to Scott Jackman from USA for lending me his actual game! :-)
Also updated:
- "Explorers of Space (Elektronika) Simulator" S3/1.01 (Standard 3, more accuracy)

Get them both from the download page.

Mesage for Neo-Link: I already replied to your emails, but your server returns my replies back! Please contact me from a different mail server!!!

Updated the following games - after a long time indeed:
- "Penguin Land (Bandai tabletop) Simulator" S3/1.03 (Standard 3, manual added + fixes)
- "Towering Rescue (Gakken, LCD Card game) Simulator" S3/1.02 (Standard 3, manual added + fixes)

Big thanks to Ridwan Hughes and Bas Utervijk for providing scans from those games' instructions manuals! I've been waiting those images for well over one year!
The games also feature a few fixes and updates to simulation routines - such as hiscore saves and AI routines.

Get them both from the download page.

July 31st, 2001
Here it is: the first Russian Game & Watch clone simulator released! The title is:
- "Explorers of Space (Elektronika) Simulator" S3/1.00 (Standard 3, final)

This is a clone of the rare and famous "Egg" and "Mickey Mouse" (both Nintendo's) thoguh having much different graphics and background - space ships, energy shields and missiles are used in place of the wolf (or Mickey Mouse), eggs and chickens!
This game is also odd because it also features a cool "Game A+B" feature! Game A+B is the reverse of standard games A and B. It's well worth a try!

Get it from the download section. I highly recommend to play this game!

NOTE: Coming soon: Mickey Mouse (Nintendo) and Egg (Nintendo). Stay tuned!

June 13th, 2001
Double release today!
- "Hippo Teeth (VTech, Tooth-Sporty Time & Fun Series)" S3/1.00 (standard 3, final)
- "Heathcliff (VTech, Mini Time & Fun Series)" S3/1.00 (standard 3, final)

These games share the same CPU; consequently, gameplay and musics are basically the same. They have totally different graphics and shape, and they are both worth a try. :-)

NOTE: I'm unsure of the actual name of the Heathcliff game, since I own the Italian version and it's named "Caccia al Ladro". If you have any infos, or you own the original instructions manual or box, please email me and help me complete the game!

Get both games from the download page.

Here they are. Get the awaited fixes for the following games:
- "Tron (Tomy tabletop) Simulator" S3/1.01 (fix for Win2000)
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Nintendo, Panorama)" S3/1.00b (fix for Voodoo3/G200/TNT2)
- "Motor Cross Simulator" S3/2.03 (fix for Win2000)

Get them from the download section.

June 2nd, 2001
I've been informed that my latest simulator "Tron" and my old one "Motor Cross", are not compatible with Win2000, due to an ASM routine which I implemented to simulate the cycle's engine noise through the PC speaker! Looks like Win2000 doesn't allow applications to handly manage output ports... :-(

At this moment, those games can just be played without sound in all Win2000-based systems. I'll soon release new "no speaker" versions for Win2000 users.

Sorry for such a problem - I don't have Win2000 installed, so I couldn't figure such a problem myself! :-(

May 31st, 2001
Here we go again with a new tabletop simulator (my 25th one):
- "Tron (Tomy tabletop) Simulator" S3/1.00 (Standard 3, final)

This game is extremely popular, and it's a "tie-in" of the world famous movie "Tron" from Walt Disney, 1981.
The original tabletop game has a great design, and the gameplay itself is very entertaining: it features three games in one, and you play versus an "intelligent" computer. The simulator also features some Artificial Intelligence routines to match the behaviour of the original tabletop game.

Get it from the download section. I highly recommend to play this game!

Damn - no time to rest! :-(
I've been told of some problems with my most recent simulators by some Voodoo3 and G200 video cards users.
How could I even think that Voodoo3 and G200 cards had such problems in managing 1-bit transparent bitmaps?!?
So I decided to update the following simulators:
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Nintendo, Panorama Screen) Simulator" S3/1.00a (graphics fix)
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Nintendo, Table Top) Simulator" S3/1.00a (graphics fix)
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Coleco tabletop) Simulator" S3/1.00a (graphics fix)

If you're experiencing problems please get the updated version from the download section.

May 23rd, 2001
One more Nintendo tabletop simulators see the light... well actually there are TWO new simulators:
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Nintendo tabletop, white ivory layout)" Simulator S3/1.00 (final)
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Coleco tabletop, orange layout)" Simulator S3/1.00 (final)

I actually scheduled these games four weeks ago but I had some problems in getting the manual scans for the Coleco game. Thanks to Rik Morgan for helping me with that. =D
Get them from the download section.

NOTE:
I'm currently working on a "Tron (Tomy tabletop)" simulator, which is almost complete.
Actually I'm also quite busy with my studies, so don't expect it that soon.
I'll keep you up to date - bye!

April 3rd, 2001

March 31st, 2001
Woho! 100,000 visitors??? I'm totally impressed! =D
OK, OK... in order to thank you for supporting me, I'll unveil my next simulator's name.
Well, it's a long-awaited sim, since the game was very popular in mid 80s, and it's actually a very funny game (one of my favorites ever). The game I'm speaking of is:
- "Donkey Kong Jr. (Nintendo, Panorama Screen Series)".
It's almost complete and in final beta-testing phase, so I'll probably release it next wednesday. Keep in touch!

March 28th, 2001
Final updates day!
I finally updated my most recent six simulators to the "S3" standard (new routines for sound playback and settings; Snoopy -Table Top also has instruction manual - thanks to Maurice Simon). The games are:

- "Donkey Kong II (Nintendo, Multi-screen)" - S3/1.01 (standard 3, final)
- "Dungeons & Dragons (Mattel Electronics)" - S3/1.01 (standard 3, final)

Get them from the download section!

IMPORTANT:
I've been recently informed of a small problem on this site with my previous update for "Snoopy Tennis" S3/1.01. If you downloaded it before March 23rd you may have gotten the OLDER version instead of the latest one!
Please take a while and check which version you currently have on your HD, and eventually get the S3/1.01 version now!
Sorry for this problem. =(

March 21st, 2001
Just another manic wednesday...

March 7th, 2001
As I previously announced, I'm currently converting all my previously-released simulators to the new standard "S3", fixing small bugs and adding new features (directsound suport, hiscores reset, new splash-screens and more).
I just completed the updates to the following games:

- "Motor Cross" - S3/2.02 (standard 3, final)
- "GrabMan (Inno-Hit)" - S3/2.02 (standard 3, final)
- "Las Vegas (Bandai)" - S3/2.01 (standard 3, final)
- "PuckMan (Tomy, Table top)" - S3/2.02 (standard 3, final)
- "Donkey Kong Circus (Nintendo, Panorama screen)" - S3/1.04 (standard 3, final)

Get them from the download section. Hope you like the new features!

February 28th, 2001
New simulator online:
- "Dungeons & Dragons - Computer Fantasy Game (Mattel - Arcade Action Series)", release S3/1.00 (final).
It's a very odd game: it has a great gameplay, much similar to the Intellivision version.
Don't forget to read instructions carefully before playing it, since it's totally different to any other handheld game! Get it from the download page and enjoy!

PS: Thanks to Rik Morgan of Handheld Museum for providing scans from the original instructions manual!

February 21st, 2001
Phew... finally released:
- "Donkey Kong II (Nintendo - Multi Screen Series) Simulator" S3/1.00
I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this simulator, since it's a great game!
Get it from the download page.

IMPORTANT:
I just designed a new standard for my handhelds simulators, hence the "S3" signature on this release number (S3 stands for "Standard 3.0"). This game can be used on PCs with/without sound card, and it features the superb FMOD library, which allows audio output through Windows Multimedia System or DirectSound devices.
Since I could finally remove the crap resource-wasting Delphi's "MediaPlayer" component from my simulators, they are now much more stable than before!
I'll soon update all my previous simulators to this new S3 standard. =)

February 5th, 2001
Graphic bug-fixes for:
- "Donkey Kong (Nintendo - Multi Screen Series) Simulator" 1.03a

- "Donkey Angler (Gakken - LCD Card Game) Simulator"

Hope they are OK now. Grab them from the download page.

January 3rd, 2001
Happy 2001 to everybody!!! - a bit late though, hehe!

The game simulation is complete, but I still miss scans from the original instructions booklet. =( If you own it, please email me!
Get it from the download page and enjoy!
