Re: Hello from Canada!

Hey there! Unfortunately the controllers for the CreatiVision (Or Wizzard here in Aus) are definitely the weakest part of the package IMO. (Unless you get a bad board. I have one board where every single via seems to have failed. The board is made of something akin to hardened cheddar.) There are wo...

At last, a proper keyboard Replacement

I know, I know. I have been working on replacement keyboard projects on and off for years now. This one, however, came together pretty much in 24 hours. ...All I need to do now is test it :-D https://ilike8bits.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-29-181539.png It's built around Cherry ...

Re: Full sized keyboard question.

The full sized keyboard passes all the pins through. You should be able to use it in situ with the interface.

Hi LennonNZ. I must admit I haven't even tried using my tape deck.
I've been sticking with cartridges so far,

Re: Oh No! Not another controller project???

So while looking to see if there is a "better" way to do things, I finally found that, yes, there are such things as Diode Arrays. Better yet, there's the BAS40DW-05, which is 2 pair of Schottky diodes arranged just right so I can use them to replace 4 diodes each. That gives us only 12 diode arrays...

Re: Oh No! Not another controller project???

Well, I have made up a controller and boy did I make a mistake! Fairly sure I have the keypad backwards compared to the controller part. BAck to the drawing board... again :-D

Heh. Those threads about the controllers. That was me. I know SO MUCH more about them now, having played with several different controller replacements. Probably the key piece if info you want is this part of the thread between a bunch of us here. https://www.madrigaldesign.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=...

Oh No! Not another controller project???

Hey all. Clearly I can't leave well enough alone. I've been making game controllers for other systems a lot recently. I successfully made new controllers for the ColecoVision, the Neo Geo AES, the Atari 8 bit family and the C64. (I also have a design for the CD32 that's just waiting on some componen...

Re: Cheap TMS99xx replacement

I ended up using some leftover aluminiuim sheet, with some textured plastic over the top. The textured plastic was a sheet I had salvaged from the bottom of a reusable shopping bag. I drilled a few holes and used a nibbler to square up the spot for the VGA connector. It's quite robust and I like the...
