Re: Cheap TMS99xx replacement
As you posted on AtariAge, did it require a firmware upgrade on the Pico9918 to work with the Creativision? Perhaps all new chips are sold with the latest firmware anyway.

Re: New members?
I see. I know that phpBB can be tricky during upgrades. I would assume permanent links to previous attachments etc could be troublesome if the forum switches protocol. Perhaps you can add a note somewhere to contact the admin in order to apply for membership in the forum. There seems to be a couple ...

New members?
Two people on AtariAge commented that there doesn't seem to be any way to register on this forum any longer. Is that on purpose due to the number of spammers, or a mistake? It was also mentioned that the site not yet runs https which will make browsers, anti-virus programs and generally online rank ...

I've offered hardware testing, in case you don't get there before me.

CVBasic soon for CreatiVision?
Nanochess (Oscar Toledo G) tweeted this post earlier: https://twitter.com/nanochess/status/1820510265760202968 For those of you who are unfamiliar, a couple of months ago Nanochess released a new BASIC cross compiler for the ColecoVision, named CVBasic. It follows the same principles as the very pop...

Re: A possible origin of the CreatiVision system
I believe the fact that TI released the TI-99/4A in June 1981, equipped with the new TMS9918A chip (NTSC) which supports bitmapped graphics and the computer having built-in composite video, marks a change in history. It would seem around then the TMS9919 PSG was renamed SN76489 and the two previousl...

Re: WIP: Reversi
Sorry, based on what has happened in other forums when source code is leaked, I prefer to keep it for myself until the day someone contacts me personally asking for access or collaboration.

Wow... long time between the logins for me.
Sure, you can announce the "beta" version of Reversi or however we should call it.

Re: WIP: Reversi
I don't recall what the state was. I think I solved pretty much all the VBLANK issues and the apparent bugs. It has been many years now since I touched my Creativision or Laser 2001, and even longer since I programmed for it. Perhaps one day I'll get back to it. I found this binary, assembled on Aug...

Re: Hello from Italy!
the disk drive format seems to be the same used in Laser 500 How surprising for being VTech! I thought every machine they made was unlike and incompatible with all the others in their line. Speaking of which, there was a fellow on Twitter who had a joystick interface for the Laser 200 series, which...
