Hey all,
Looks like flex PCBs have come down an astonishing amount since I last looked. JLC are doing them for under $3 for small batches. Now, I don't expect that price to apply for the kind of PCBs we'd need to a membrane replacement, but it does actually look like we could make them for much more reasonable prices, especially as that price is for quantities of 5.
Maybe I'll have to dig out those membrane scans I did all that time ago and revisit replacement membranes after all? I'll probably try a test design for intial testing. See if I can create a simple tri state switch from a flex pcb, just to prove it'll do what we need.
Cheers!
Chesh
