CVBasic soon for CreatiVision?

Talk about programming CreatiVision (except games programming). Projects of homebrew hardware are also welcome.

CVBasic soon for CreatiVision?

Post by carlsson » Mon Aug 05, 2024 11:50 pm

Nanochess (Oscar Toledo G) tweeted this post earlier:

For those of you who are unfamiliar, a couple of months ago Nanochess released a new BASIC cross compiler for the ColecoVision, named CVBasic. It follows the same principles as the very popular IntyBASIC, but targeted for Z80 systems. Initially it was only ColecoVision, shortly after Sega SG-1000/SC-3000, MSX and in the last few weeks, SVI-318/328, Sord M5 and Memotech MTX.

Now it seems he is implementing 6502 code generation in his compiler, with the CreatiVision in mind as a low hanging fruit target. It will be interesting to try once it is released, and hopefully an alternative for those who find C a bit complex (not to mention 6502 assembly code).

I've offered hardware testing, in case you don't get there before me.
