CSL Cart...

Talk about programming CreatiVision (except games programming). Projects of homebrew hardware are also welcome.

my CSL Cart in action :D Amazing to see my actual 12k dev-project load in a few seconds. Not much longer then switch a cart
Testing on the SM was cool, but now test on the CV is the final solution.

Hi,

I have successfuly populated and tested the CSL Audio Interface!

This little thing will work with the CSL Cart and also with the "normal" CreatiVision BASIC module and allows loading/saving to any Soundsource (PC-Soundcard, CD Player and even MP3-player...) Naturally it can only "save" to gear, thas also has an audio/mic input ;0)

Hi,

The CSL audio Interface has been successfully tested, by me and Mobsie => check!
Now i only want to do a bit more testing with the latest CSL BIOS and then the CSL Hardware/Software should be ready ;0)

The package and the instructions still need work... but i think it's only a few days till "Launch-Day" now ;0)

Are you somehow willing to add support to the Laser 2001 floppy disk drive to the CSL module?

If so, how would it work?

Hi, Sorry, there is absolutely no way to add a (or the Laser 2001 / Salora) floppy without much additional Hardware as there are no I/O lines on the Creativision... even on the Laser 2001 an additional Diskcontroller was necessary... (The Salora Disk Drives are very rare, but the Laser 2001 Disk Drives are like hens teeth or rocking horse shit ;O))

At the begin we thought about adding Support for the Commodore C64 Diskdrives (IEC), but we went for Audio, Serial and Bluetooth because they are widely available... and no obsolete "floppy" media is involved...

SO!!! The CSL Loads and Saves to Audio, Serial and Bluetooth (and is very fast and easy to use at that ;0))

PS: We have filled the (for the CV) possible 16K ROM to the max and only have a few Bytes left...

Thanks much for the very clear explanation :)

Have you had any chance to test the disk drive interface on the Manager? Do you have any floppy disks to dump? Any information to share on the file system, capacity, etc?

Was the disk drive somehow useful for your research?
