i just found this link... https://www.instructables.com/DIY-Flexi ... -Circuits/
Maybe we can create replacement foils on our own ;0) (maybe at least for the joystick part?)
Online i found 15x15cm sheets of the flex material for 11Euros

Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers
Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers
This could work. Only thing is finding someone with one of these printers.

Hi,
in the article is mentioned, that the toner-transfer method also works...

Just checked and the stuff is pretty expensive. Need to ensure we get as many copies of the controller on a single piece to make it work our while
Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers
Hi, i just ordered 3 small pieces on e**y for test purposes :0)

Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers
Well, my theory about diodes has been disproven, at least with signal diodes. I'll grab some Shottky diodes when I next go to the electronics store and see if they make a difference, but I think I might just have gone down an incorrect path.
I'm back to having to use DPST switches.
If Scouter3d has no luck with DIY flex membranes, I was thinking maybe 0.4mm PCB would be flexible enough (With a spacer between boards) to do what we want? It's still not cheap, but significantly cheaper than true FlexPCB.

Hi Chesh,
what did happen? Was no keypress recognized?

Yep. No keypress.
I'll get the Shottky diodes and try again. I'm also going to make a better edge connector than the one I'm using.

Ok folks, with Shottky it works!
This will simplify switch choice immensely. I'm going to make a PCB around this and get it ordered. I'll probably go with SMD so I can mount them at the edge of the PCB, under the lip of the cover. SMD buttons I already have. I'm hoping to have a design a membrane can be slid over the top of
I'll share the PCBs as soon as I finish them.
BTW there are obviously going to be a lot of diodes! 2 per switch, so cheap is going to be the main factor with the diodes
Cheers!

Hi, great news!
looking forward to your design!
I have received the flexible PCB stuff to etch - it is madly expensive (i paid > 50 Euro for 3 small pieces) i will try to etch something soon...

Re: Replacement Membranes for Creativision controllers
This is so exciting. If this works it will bring my controllers back to life. Please post your results as soon as you have tested.
Also will you be posting the scans on the PCB layout so we can try and get them made here? (Australia that is)
