Greetings from Mexico City!

Post by nanochess » Thu Aug 08, 2024 3:32 pm

Hi all!

I'm Oscar Toledo G. most known as nanochess in the retrogaming world.

I've coding retrogames starting in 2010, and started 6502 coding in the year 2014, when I made Space Raid for Atari 2600, and later Aardvark for Atari 2600. I even wrote a book about the subject.

At the end of February 2024, I started coding CVBasic, an integer BASIC compiler for Colecovision, who everyone knows is based on Z80.

I was pretty intrigued by the suggestion made by MADrigal to port it to Creativision (both share the same initials CV!) and discovered it uses the 6502 processor.

I was thinking a lot about it, and this last Sunday Aug/04 I started coding a 6502 backend and driver for CVBasic, I could get a working version by Monday, and after porting the remaining of the library (including the Pletter decompressor!), I was able to release it Yesterday!

I think the release has been already mentioned here

So thanks for accepting me here!

You are SO welcome Oscar!! And I apologise but didn't know that you are the author of SO MANY games for a variety of systems! I believe one game or two have also been reviewed by the Italian Zzap! magazine in the past couple of years.
Welcome!!

I used to publish a list of authored games when introducing myself, but now I only mention two or three related games.

Nice to be in this forum. Thanks for the heads up!

Oh Wow!
Welcome Oscar! Since youu announced the port to Creativision, a bunch of groups and forums I belong to have been talking about CVBasic, and now, here you are! I must say, it's an amazing effort.

Thanks so much for porting to our little system!

You're welcome!

I'm glad I could make this port. It wasn't easy but it came out really well.

Pretty happy to hear people is interested in CVBasic. I hope to see more new games!
