Another Salora Manager owner to be chimes in from Oulu region. I’m a long time vintage computer collector/hobbyist. My first computer was a Vic-20 back in the day, and I’ve gone through a Commodore 64 and various iterations of PC computers. I got into vintage computer collecting in 2002 and have accumulated a diverse collection of 8 and 16 bit computers and consoles. The Salora is my first foray into Vtech and its derivatives. I already own a Nokia MikroMikko 3TT, which is from the late 80s.

I’m looking forward to delve in to this piece of Finnish computing history and getting to know the community.

I have never heard of the MikroMikko 3TT - what is that?

Mikromikko is a series of PC compatible computers made by Nokia back in the 80s. Here’s a link to a brochure: https://www.net.fujitsu.fi/fi/historia/ ... inos89.pdf

I got the Manager today. It was slightly scuffed but otherwise in okay nick. I connected it to my TV, only to find that it wasn’t powering up or at least not outputting a video signal. The PSU was outputting the correct voltages, so I opened the main unit up and saw that one of the power LED leads was broken. I soldered the lead back to see if the system had any signs of life. To my surprise the whole system started to work. It is definitely an interesting design choice to put the power LED in series with the power circuit.
