Greetings from North Yorkshire

Post by DavidR » Wed Oct 23, 2024 9:10 pm

Hi everyone,
I found the forum after building an 8 bit computer capable of running Creativision software - the MECB from Greg in NZ.
It reminded me of my first computer back in the early '80s, before that I had been interested in electronics but never had any hands on experience until I was given an old Ohio C1P - I never looked back and soon pretty much knew the machine inside out and made a few expansion cards for it learning as I went along. More recently my retro computer building has been with FPGAs and PC emulations. Last year I spent a lot of time building interfaces using modern micros to drive vintage aviation instruments. I then started to try repairing my old 8 bit home made computer without success and built a new one to test the components on, so now I have a real 8 bit micro again and I'm keen to try basic and see how it copes with colour on the MECB with its TMS9918.
Best regards, David.

Hi David,
Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you have definitely been busy with all of that!
I'll have to look into the MECB now.

Hi David. Welcome to the forum. It's great to see you here! Love what you're doing with MECB (of course).
