Did a first pass last night. Still needs some more cleanup. I've moved the diodes to the underside for ease of mounting so more Vias than my usual projects

I'll release everything as I get it working. I've discovered JLCPCB don't charge anything extra for 0.6mm PCBs. I'm hoping it'll be flexible enough to act as a membrane replacement. Worth a test

($2aud vs $40aud)

i think it does need a hole in the middle for the joysick-stick bearing? Or not?

Yeah you're totally correct.
It also has the wrong pass through connectors and positioning is probably off. It'd taken me a few hours to get a proper workflow to get that stupid membrane shape in and my very patient wife was starting to drop increasingly impatient hints about it being bedtime.

I'll finish this off today, print it out for size fitting and see if I can get the other half and the buttons done. I'm not going to get a chance to order anything before next weekend anyway. I'll order all the diodes and PCBs and see how I go.

A few hours of measuring, re-measuring, ripping up everything when you realised the connectors were on the wrong orientation and reworking I get:

OK I am happy with this! Onto the lower portion which should have the world's most boring schematic. To wit, exactly 1 pin.

BTW, has anyone else realised that with the Shottky diode trick, there's nothing stopping us making a full mechanical keyboard using Cherry MX style keys?

OK now I have completed the buttons and the bottom plate for the joystick... Here they are in KiCAD format for anyone who wishes to play with them.
