Tips and Tricks

General Tips

Know your sword range!
Getting to know the range you have with your sword allows you to better set up your combos without putting yourself in danger. Some opponents move faster than others, so be prepared to swing your blade when the time is right!

Combos have different strengths!
Each sword combination has its own special focus that makes it more helpful in certain situations. Sia's Spinning Jump Kick combo (B, R, B) pushes surviving opponents a far distance away from her, making it especially helpful against blade-wielding Dogmen. Sia's Lunge Thrust combo (B, R, R) is extremely effective against shield-totting opponents, destroying the shield (and the foe behind it) in one hit!

When all else fails, turn on the Air!
Some opponents will appear to have the upper hand, and Sia might find herself in a tough situation. If such opponents are beyond your sword's edge, and your Energy Balls fall short of connection, the Air spell is your best friend! Walls, obstacles and hazards aren't able to restrain Cheyenne's wrath, and she will seek and destroy that annoying foe.

Angry Mobs aren't fireproof!
Some opponents prefer to bring their friends and gang up on Lady Sia, like Hedgehogs and Badgermen. Sia can easily be stranded on a platform surrounded by a marauding horde of enemies and no method of clean escape. It's these moments where the Fire Spell really shines. Bringing Rafooza's fury down upon all on-screen opponents paves the way for Sia's exit. Do beware, though... not all enemies are killed by the first hit of this spell.

Sia the untouchable!
There are many points in the game where an obstacle or enemy will really slow your progress. The simple answer? Poseidon's protective Water Spell! Casting this renders Sia invulnerable to hazards and enemies for a short period of time, giving Sia that necessary edge against even the toughest of juggernauts.

Learn to grapple!
When Lady Sia leaps into the edge of a platform at about chin level, Sia will grapple onto the edge of this platform with her sword. She can then pull herself up onto the platform or drop down beneath it. However, moving platforms are too difficult for Sia to grapple and must be leapt directly onto. Remember this, and Sia will live a longer, happier existence.

Ration your hearts and magic!
If Sia ever encounters a Heart or Magic icon to collect, but the corresponding meter is full, it's better to leave the icon alone for the moment. You can always return to it later when you do need it.

Silence is the key!
When Sia is running low on health, or you just don't want to risk injury when approaching a sleepy or distracted opponent, use the L button + Left or Right on the d-pad to sneak up to your foe. This stealthy maneuver will allow Sia to get very close to these foes without fear of being ambushed.

Level Tips

The Castle
Look out for the little dark Ratmen! They are quick and annoying when left alone too long. Since their pattern is sporadic and unpredictable, it's best to begin a simple combo from a distance and repeat it over and over, slowly inching toward them. This way, when they do charge you, they will hit your sword before they hit you.

The Village
The Badgermen can really be a pain. The best method of eliminating them is to jump onto a slightly higher level of ground (rocks, platforms, etc). From here, duck and slash when they pass under you. For the Badgermen in the cavern, the best way to deal with them is to charge right past them as they leap from their alcove (they will not hurt Sia while they leap), then turn and slash them as they land.

The City
The City There are many treacherous creatures throughout this level, but certain methods of attack and evasion can make the battle a lot easier. First, use Sia's Lunge Thrust combo (B, R, R) to trash the shield-wielding Opposummen. The Mage Opposummen are one of the biggest nuisances in the game! These are best dealt with by jumping toward them about a half-second after they release a 'jelly' toward Sia, then slashing them as you descend from your jump, opening it into a combo.

T'soa Airport
This level is divided into 3 sections. The Windmills here can really impede Sia's progression. Be sure to pull every switch that you encounter. Chances are they will stop one of these dreaded windmills. When you reach the end of each section of the level, Sia must maneuver on her Bird around bomb-dropping Zeppelins and helmet-bearing Hawks. The best way to avoid such traffic is to stay near the top of the screen and match your flight pattern to stay between the dropping bombs. If Hawks begin to bolt onto the screen, immediately drop down and weave between them.

Pelican Boss
To really keep this guy on the run, don't waste a moment!Capture every mouse as soon as they pop out of the ship. Repeat this until the Pelican musters his bravery and attempts to face you himself… then bumrush him!

Water Kingdom
The main annoyances here are the Swordfishmen who wander the region. Its best to open your attack on them with a jumping slash, forming into a combo. If at any point you find yourself unable to continue, look around for a switch or button… there are tricks to this area!

Poseidon
Poseidon is quite a fearsome foe to behold, but looks only go so far! Avoid his Tidal Wave attack and wait for him to raise his trident to strike. During this two-second window, fire an Energy ball at his belt to put him back in line.

Fire Realm
Avoid the Fire-jets that spew from the lava. Most animated objects in this level are vulnerable to your sword,so don't be afraid to use it! Don't spend too much time on every platform you come across; many of them are old and ready to crumble at any time. Sometimes it's best to take a low stance when approaching an enemy. You never know what they might toss your way.

Rafooza
This fire being is one tough flame! Try to stay on the ground as little as possible to avoid the shockwaves he sends along it. Hmm… those rocks above his head look very peculiar.

Air Kingdom
The old sword will get a break this level. With no enemies to slash, concentrate on Sia’s movement. Many, many obstacles will bar your path, so be ready to avoid a multitude of dangers. Watch out for those flaming rings on the Mine Car! Make Sia duck through the rings to continue untouched.

Cheyenne
It’s an air race that quickly turns into an obstacle course in the air! Catch up to Cheyenne by rapidly banging the A Button. Once you’renearby, she unleashes a series of flames. And if this isn’t bad enough, when you catch up again she releases four lightning clouds in your direction. Avoid being between them when they become parallel with one another!

The Snowy Mountain
Its an uphill climb for the first part of the level. Avoid avalanches and snowballs as you crawl your way up the cold slopes. Don’t neglect the high-road, for many goodies may be lying in wait there.

Walrus
This tubby fiend is not about to let Sia get by in one non-eaten piece, so Sia is forced to transform into her ultimate form… the Sasquatch! Continue thrashing the Ice Bridge by using the Quake attack (press down while jumping straight up). When it looks like it’s about to collapse, lure the Walrus over it. Don’t let him push you around! If he charges you, press the A Button repeatedly to push him back!

The Elven Forest
The wonders of nature have been corrupted by the T’soa, so Sia must be on guard! Avoid the Flytraps whenever possible, but if you get caught, escape by pressing the A Button as fast as if your life depended on it… Sia’s does! Don’t forget to check the forest canopy for items and prisoners.

The Gremlin’s Machine
Many puzzles await Sia throughout this stage. Your best bet for escape is to use your surrounding to your advantage. When enemies attack, cage ‘em! Giant robot? No problem… use some explosives! Watch out for the Mine cart tracks; they look old and rusty, so jump if you spot a hole. Most importantly, use your brain!

Sia’s Palace
Its angering when Sia has to break into her own Palace, so she wants some revenge! Be on guard, though, for many opponents will slow her down as she continues. This level will utilize her skills to the highest degree yet! Never underestimate the power of a well-timed Water spell, and be patient Waiting for the proper moment to run in and strike is the key to victory.

Foxwoman
She’s invaded your living space, and she’s not about to give it up! The Foxwoman begins the bout by throwing large balls of energy down at Sia. Avoid these, then jump over the ghosts she sends after you. When she begins to spin, and ONLY when she begins to spin, she becomes vulnerable. Strike her in this state to dizzy her for a moment. Continue this a number of times and victory will be yours!

Turtle Village
It appears that the T’soas used giant turtles to travel across the ocean. These turtles can work to your advantage if you free them from their bonds. Find the three numbered switches throughout the level to release the turtles. Don’t forget that boxes are buoyant as well as barrels.

Seaport
Prevent the T’soa from building up their aquatic army by slashing the rocks dangling above the submarines. Find hidden platforms and enter towers to discover many secret areas.

Camp
Sia’s melee skills will be stretched to the very limits through this hack-and-slash level. The thick of the T’soa army resides here, so be ready for some serious sword swinging! The Water spell comes in very handy in this level.

Fortifications
The final T’soa defense, this series of walls and barriers will strenuously test Sia’s abilities, physically and mentally. Hazards, enemies and puzzles all bombard Sia on her way to Onimen’s chambers. One thing to keep in mind:not all platforms are there, waiting for you. If you find yourself at a cliff with no seeming escape, wait a few seconds, and sometimes a platform will make itself known.

Onimen
The Dark Sorcerer himself is ready to do battle with our shapeshifting heroine, so stay on guard. You cannot hurt Onimen, due to the shield he surrounds himself with. Shortly after the battle begins, Onimen unleashes a projectile that shrinks Sia and six Ratmen suddenly attack the mini-sasquatch. Defeat these Ratmen to return to your normal size. Don’t stand still too long, though. Once Sia begins to return to normal, a large stone block will fall from the ceiling to crush her. Avoid this obstacle and push it over the hole that Onimen’s light shield comes from.. Slash him while he’s vulnerable and he will float along the top of the screen, firing a multitude of Fireballs at Sia. Dodge the projectiles and wait for him to return to his pedestal. Repeat this a few more times, and Onimen will be sent back to the underworld from which he came!

The Library
Keep your wits about you while venturing through the Library... all kinds of confusing illusionary magic lie waiting for you to stumble upon. Avoid the array of rioting T'soa, beware the various pitfalls and traps, and collect the hidden keys to unlock ancient tomes to help your progress.
