I am soon to update the CVE website with the usual additions of scanned materials.
The update will also comprise of a brand new section: "letters".
This is a little teaser of what you will find: an original prices list of CV hw and sw printed by VTech!
Enjoy it!

Asked AI on exchange rates for 1982. Here's some breakdown.
Australian Dollar (AUD): 1 HKD ≈ 0.18 AUD. Console Unit @ $690 HKD = $124.20 AUD
Euro (EUR): 1 HKD ≈ 0.13 EUR (Today) (0.28 DEM). Console Unit ₰193.20 DEM vs €89.70
British Pound (GBP): 1 HKD ≈ 0.12 GBP. Console Unit £82.80 GBP
Canadian Dollar (CAD): 1 HKD ≈ 0.15 CAD. Console Unit C$103.50 CAD
New Zealand Dollar (NZD): 1 HKD ≈ 0.14 NZD. Console Unit NZ$96.60 NZD
South Africa (Rand) 1 HKD ≈ 0.896 ZAR. Console Unit R618.24 ZAR
United States (USD) 1 HKD ≈ 0.17 USD. Console Unit $117.30 USD
The price list most likely isn't including postage/transit and customs duties.

Looks like 3rd party retailer, not direct from VTech.

It really is a VTech catalogue. From memory, the whole scan is available on the CreatiVEmu website in the 'scans from the 80s' section. I also have the original here and I am selling it together with other paperware.

Ok. It was common in the time to contact retailers to source supplies. In Melbourne city they had a Telecom office with international yellow pages, you could look up say Taiwan or Hong Kong businesses. then send letters off for price lists. Many getting lists for Apple II clones, etc. Just noticed the VTech label on right side.
