downloadable programs in ROM format for use with emulated or real hardware
CreatiVision and compatible systems.
To assist users in finding the files more easily, they have been grouped into
the below categories:

1) SYSTEM BIOS AND FIRMWARE
A) CreatiVision
The following ROM programs are working dumps of the system BIOS
contained in CreatiVision (and compatibles) units. The data was originally stored
in a 2 KByte EPROM. This was unsoldered and read with a professional EPROM
programmer. The read data saved was then saved to binary file.
For use with CreatiVision emulators and actual hardware.
B) Laser 2001
The following ROM programs are working dumps of BIOS and firmware
contained in Laser 2001 (and compatibles) units and peripherals. The data
was originally stored in EPROMs of various size. These were unsoldered and
read with a professional EPROM programmer. The read data saved was then saved
to binary files.
For use with Laser 2001 and Salora Manager emulators and actual hardware.
2) OFFICIAL COMMERCIAL ROMS
The following ROM programs were originally stored in commercial program and game
cartridges. The data was originally stored in PROMs or EPROMs of various size.
These were unsoldered and read with a professional EPROM programmer. The read
data saved was then saved to binary files.
For use with CreatiVision and Laser 2001 emulators and actual hardware.

Complete MAME ROMset
All official commercial ROMs in different format and naming convention from
the ones above. This package was specifically designed for use with MAME
and MESS version. Most ROMs in this format will not work with other emulators.
The current ROMset version is 0.265 |
3) OFFICIAL NON-COMMERCIAL
ROMS
The following ROM programs were originally stored in cartridges designed by
VTech or other manufacturers, not intended to be sold to the public and generally
for internal use. These were unsoldered and read with a professional EPROM
programmer. The read data saved was then saved to binary files.
For use with CreatiVision emulators and actual hardware.
4) HOMEBREW GAMES,
DEMOS, AND HACKED ROMS
The following ROM programs are original programs hacked to fix or improve
them, demos, and homebrew games. Use them with any CreatiVision emulator or to
create your own cartridges for use with the actual console.
